Not enough SAF for air cargo to hit net zero – carriers must find other routes
Tiaca director general Glyn Hughes has weighed into the SAF debate and aviation’s route to net-zero, urging the industry to recognize the multiple paths it can take to greener flights. Concerns have been raised over airfreight’s capacity to maintain its present growth rate, cater to rising demand, and reach net-zero emissions by 2050. Hughes believes that while sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) will play a role in this journey, it is not enough on its own. He urges airlines to look at other solutions such as carbon offsetting and investing in renewable energy.
Digital brokers struggling as the market headwinds get stronger
The digital brokerage space is seeing increasing turmoil: freight brokerages Convoy and Coyote Logistics announced staff reductions on Friday due to adverse market conditions. Uber Freight also confirmed staff cuts in its core digital brokerage business last quarter after slipping back into the red. Lufthansa vergibt Abfertigung und Enteisung in Stockholm an Aviator
Aviator Airport Alliance, a provider of aviation services at 15 airports across the Nordic countries announced a new partnership with Lufthansa Group.
